KAREN KOWALKE

Running for public office is a family commitment. Randall's family is totally behind him in his endeavor to run for the State Senate. There are several reasons for this. One of the biggest reasons is that we all know him to be a man who truly cares for his community and the people around him.

Years ago while living in a small community in Oregon he became a reserve policeman. Our neighbor was a policeman and told him about the fact that there were not enough hours in the day to do his job. Randall volunteered to help and did that for two years until we moved back to Alaska.

He became a Matsu Borough Assemblyman for the same reason. He thought he could help his neighbors in this capacity and he has. Now he wants to be a Senator for the same reason.

He can help this State that we love. He can help because he is a statesman rather that a politician. By this I mean he will make decisions based on what is best for the state rather than what would be best for a political career. He is not a politician he is a problem solver.

Randall and I have been married for over 42 years. I wouldn't; be with him if I didn't believe in him.
